Saturday
I woke up this Saturday morning and thought it was September. It was so foggy! I could barely see across the street and had major fall vibes. I was a little worried because I was planning on climbing the cutbanks today and didn’t want to be climbing in the fog!
But don’t worry, that wasn’t the case.
My day started at the cutbanks. The one’s in town, not the North Nechako ones. I did NOT go straight up them, I used the switchbacks because I would have barely made it if. Oops!
It was nice as I was walking up them to see the fog quickly start to disappear. I could see more and more of Prince George by the minute, and the sun was starting to poke up the clouds. I was so out of breath, but the views were worth it.
When I made my way to the top, I continued on the path on the right side to stand on the very of the cutbanks.
The view from the very top is spectacular and there’s a different feeling when you’re standing at the very top of the cutbanks. I spent a fair bit of time up there, and I even called JD to see if he could see me up there. He could, which totally made my morning.
I then went and checked out the Market Place. It was their first day open and had a few vendors selling their amazing goods! So if you’re looking for some fresh veggies, soap or mystery bags for Marvel, you definitely want to check it out on the weekend 🙂
I ended my day at Paddlewheel Park. The Fraser is SO HIGH, but not high enough to reach the benches, so there were many people enjoying the sunshine and river while on benches!
Sunday
I started my day off at Wilson Park. I love Wilson Park in the winter, and I had never been before in the spring so I was in for a surprise. And let me tell you, that park is stunning without snow or ice.
The view of the Nechako is priceless. It’s so pretty up and calming.
People were out enjoying the park as well when I was there. People were with their dogs, and birthday pictures were being taken, just to name a few! My favourite part was when a dog came running up to me and tried to jump up and say hello. Long story short, I really want a dog now.
There was a bald eagle flying around and a lone goose swimming in the river. It was extremely peaceful sitting there and watching them.
I spent a fair amount of time at the park, and would have had no issue spending the whole day there! But, I had more places to visit, so I packed up, got into the Jeep, did a radio report and…
Got stuck at the train track crossing.
That is the only downer about Wilson Park- you have to cross the train tracks to get in and out :/
After Wilson Park, I went up to Hunniford Gardens. I had never been up there and was not disappointed!
We were doing a contest with them where could win a $600 GC and a garden consultation up to $400. (Contest ends at the end of May 24th!)
I met Lacey and had a great conversation with her about how busy this gardening season has been. Let me tell you- it has been a busy one!
I wandered around the greenhouses for a bit and grabbed some pictures. It was so beautiful!
The weather kept messing with me this weekend, which was really frustrating. Anyways, I’ll see you next weekend!
