Talk about a weekend of markets! Today I spent the afternoon at the 4th Annual Spring Business Fair that had over 80 different vendors. Products ranged from tea, spices, weight loss supplements, jewelry, knit wear and even wind chimes recycled into wind chimes. Part of what I love about markets like these is how easy it makes it to support local businesses. Supporting local artisans means that you’re directly supporting the local economy, and individuals within our community. I had the pleasure of talking with some ladies who work with a jewelry company that supports women in developing nations to give them aid in starting their own businesses and making a profit off their craft. I talked to another woman who is working to develop a product that allows vitamins to be absorbed into the body faster and more effectively. Talk about diverse products!
Shortly after that I headed up to UNBC to the Northern Historical Conference. First of all, why is it always so difficult to find places in universities? After learning more about some of the featured presentations, I snapped a quick group pic and now I’m back at the station prepping everything for the upcoming week.
Another weekend has come and gone. Make sure to submit your events on the FunChaser website!
