Another weekend has come and gone, however this Sunday was quieter than usual, but it feels like the whole week flew by! This week was full of adventures. I was lucky enough to shadow in the news room earlier this week. Since I’m always open to new opportunity it seemed fitting to see what the busy people do upstairs. I got to head down to the Civic Center with one of our new news guys, Tyson, to cover a story on a conference taking place about Energy Star construction certification. I learned that a lot more goes into a news story than one would expect!
The Funchaser TV that will be airing this week is about the high school provincial gymnastic championships. This meant, that Julien (One of our TV producers/camera men) and I headed down to the gymnastics center and I got to fool around on some of the equipment. One of my favourite parts about my job is getting to goof around while working! It turns out I’m not as good on a balance beam as I had once been…
Then, on Friday evening I headed down to the Spruce Kings Gala at the Ramada Ballroom. The event was raising money for the team as they head towards the end of the season. What a fabulous event! The food was amazing, complete with freshly carved roast beef, rosemary potatoes in clarified butter, fresh vegetables and an arrangement of different salads. The evening finished off with awards going to players who made a big impact on the team (Congratulations, boys!) and an auction with some big ticket items like a flat screen TV and a bike! Tons of money raised for an awesome team that makes PG proud. I’m so glad I was able to attend.
There’s also lots to look forward to this upcoming week. 150 Moves presented by Ballet Kelowna is in town. I’ll be heading to that on Tuesday evening. As someone who comes from a competitive dance background, I can’t wait to see the performance (I also love any excuse to get dressed up…). Also, The Last Romance by Joe DePietro is now being performed at ArtSpace, and we are giving away Ariana Grande tickets on 101.3 The River so make sure to listen up!
Can’t wait for another weekend full of adventure.
Your Funchaser,
Levi
