Puppies, pub food and bouncy castles are the best way to start a Sunday off! The BCSPCA North Cariboo Branch is taking on Kamloops in a battle to see who can raise more money during the month of May. Prince George started out strong with their Puppy Pub Day, which featured family friendly festivities that are by donation in the parking lot of The Westwood Pub. I got to attend and boy was it busy, with lots of families and dogs of all ages and sizes to play with. There was a duck pond run by volunteer Rachel, doling out the prizes connected to the number on the bottom of the ducks. Then I got to bouncing in the bouncy castle with a bunch of children, then I coloured and even got my face painted by the Manager of Woof Stock, Natasha! There was some great indoor auction items for those over 19 years of age in the pub. The pub is doing one better then just hosting this event, 100% of the days sales will be matched and donated to the BCSPCA. The employees are even donating their wages, which is huge and a pat on the back goes out to them! The “Fiddy Fiddy” as Sara was calling it was also doing really well, she was remarking about how heavy the buckets were getting! All the outside festivities are going on till 4 today, but indoors will rocking until the pub closes tonight! To donate or learn more about our local branch of the BCSPA go here.
