Today was Puppy Pub Day at the Westwood Pub in support of the BC SPCA City Challenge.
The City Challenge is a competition between the Prince George and Kamloops SPCA locations to see who can raise the most money in the month of May for Be Kind to Animals month. The best kind of competition, the kind aids a good cause.
Outside of the pub they had a handful of games and prizing for attendees. There was a game set up with ducks in a pond and whatever number was on the bottom corresponded to the prize won, there was also face painting, as well as a hockey shootout game with the Superdog and UNBC Timberwolf mascots.
There was a merchandise table set up with witty and cute clothes to support the SPCA
For the family members that could not go inside the pub, there was a bbq with delicious hot dogs and hamburgers for sale. The staff also had those with a sweet tooth covered; there was also a popcorn machine, alongside a cotton candy maker!
Inside the pub there was a few tables full with great silent auction items. A few of the generous businesses that donated some great items include Cariboo Brewing, Prince George Cougars, Northland Nissan and many more!
The lovely ladies of the SPCA and the Westwood Pub were walking around selling 50/50 tickets throughout the day. Last year the winner of the 50/50 walked away with a whopping $1700!
I am a dog person without a doubt and I had fun taking pictures with the K-9’s who were at the event. If it were up to me, Puppy Pub Day should be every day. I think I will have to submit my idea to them!
