April 22nd was Earth Day!
The Recycling and Environmental Action Planning Society (R.E.A.P.S) had plenty of vendors on hand educating parents and children about the importance of taking care of the planet and ways to do so.
As per ever year, they had a pile of compost for people to pick up for free to use in their gardens. Buckets upon buckets were being filled and taken out in vehicles.
There was even a group showing us an Invasive Weeds and Plants app. You’ll have to visit the REAPS Facebook page to find out more information on that!
I believe the best part about the day was the craft table for kids. Not only were they learning about recycling and other ways to better take care of the planet, but they were doing crafts with reusable material!
(OH WE ALSO SAW A SKATEBOARDING DOG. CHECK THE RIVER FACEBOOK PAGE FOR THAT VIDEO
Earth Day really is a day that opens the eyes for many people on how we can better reserve materials and take care of the planet earth! R.E.A.P.S was no stranger to helping out the community and educating the city of Prince George!
