Hey everyone! I hope you’re all doing well!
The weather today was absolutely phenomenal and amazing and I cannot wait until it’s summer time! Lets see what I did today!
I started the day by going to the carwash because the Jeep was a little dirty and I wanted it to be squeaky clean for the day of FunChasing. (I can guarantee to you that that did not last long, those darn puddles!) When I got to Magic Wash, I was pleasantly surprised to see Stan AND Bill at the car wash!
For those who don’t know, Bill is the owner of Magic Wash and Stan, who is now Saturday Stan, works there! I see Stan almost every weekend and it is definitely a highlight to see him! After getting the Jeep all nice and clean, we got a picture with the Jeep in front of the signs.
The sun was shining, I could feel the sun on my face, I knew right then that today was going to be a great day!
After the car wash, I drove over to the Nicholson Centre for Rotaract’s bake sale that they were hosting!
Now before I got there…
I have something terrible to admit…
I got lost. Twice.
I know. How could I get lost? I’ve lived here my whole life but I’ll be honest. That area still confuses me a lot and I ALWAYS take a wrong turn when I’m going to a place in that location.
When I finally made my way over there, dread overcame me.
The Jeep was dirty. Already.
UGH!
Okay, that’s beside the point, the day must go on!
I walked in and was instantly greeted by Sarah, Sakshi and Shamitha who are members of Rotaract. (Okay fun fact: I’m also a Rotaract member!)
They were dealing with a customer when I got there, but after, Shamitha told me that they had already raised close to $200 in the first hour! I was so excited!
Right! I haven’t told you where this money is going! So all the proceeds are going towards helping Australia after the devastating fires that came through. At UNBC, they had already raised $500! It’s awesome!
After hanging out at the bake sale for a bit, I made my way all the way over to Nitro MotorSports Park for the Sled Drags.
It was a really nice drive out there; the sun was shining and I had the radio going on, and it almost felt like summer… minus the fact that I had the heat blasting, the seat and steering wheel heaters on, and there was snow on the ground. We’re almost there, right?
When I got there and parked, I saw one of my school friends and took pictures with her for the time that I was there.
Okay.
So.
Sled drags ARE SO COOL.
Gave me major PGARA vibes and I was having a lot of fun watching the racers rip down the straightaway. Minus the constant smell of gasoline.
I got a lot of pictures, but had to get going because it was Dad and Me Storytime at the library!
You may have seen my Instagram/Facebook/Twitter post from last night of me and my dad sitting reading Calvin and Hobbes together advertising Dad and Me Storytime. For me, this event is so important. I always read with my dad when I was younger. It was one of my favourite things; grabbing Wacky Wednesday, Go Dog Go, Ten Apples On Top (and more), and getting him to read them to me. It even got to the point where he didn’t have to look at the pages to know what to say! So when I got there, I was really happy to see 8 dads with their kids doing storytime!
When I went last month, there were only 3 dads! So seeing it almost triple was really cool!
After grabbing some pictures, I made my way back to the Hart to LA Promotions’ Family Day fun!
All this fun is going to be there tomorrow AND on Monday so I highly recommend checking it out! They have bouncy castles, games and a concession and there were lots of kids running around having a BLAST! I’ll be back tomorrow!
I stayed in the Hart for a little longer, and went back to the sled drags because I had so much fun watching them earlier!
I stayed only for a bit, before heading back into town. But I did ask my dad if we could get a snowmobile…. he said no 🙁
This was his answer. I tried…
Before completely packing up, I had to go through Magic Wash once more because the Jeep got REALLY dirty throughout the day. Don’t worry, the Jeep is nice and clean for tomorrow 😉
See you tomorrow PG!
Sylvia, the FunChaser
Okay… you have probably realized that my blogs went a little MIA. I’m sorry! I got behind and tried to catch up but we came to the conclusion that I won’t catch up and then I’ll forever be behind. So, we have some catching up to do!
- I am no longer a university student! I chose not to go back this semester and take time to enjoy life. (I also realized that I don’t want to be a high school teacher anymore!) With that…
- I picked up more shifts at the station! Which is really nice because I get to hang out with my super awesome coworkers for three days instead of one. SCORE!
I’m really glad to be back to writing blogs! Thanks for all being super awesome xx
