It was an eventful final weekend as your Chieftain Auto Parts Funchaser!
We began saturday at the Farmer’s Market downtown, and even though it was raining pretty steady throughout the time we were there, it did not stop people from making their way through. It was an awesome start to the day.
We then made our way to Pine Centre for a back to school sale that was going on, and to be honest, I was pretty surprised by the amount of people that were there. However, it was a great energy through and through!
We then finished off the day over at L’heidli Tenneh Memorial Park for a BBQ hosted by the Prince George Hospice Society. Also an awesome energy over there! Lots of activities for the entire family which is awesome to see. All in all, it was an awesome final Saturday.
Sunday was a challenge to be completely honest! Sometimes its tough to find events around town when nothing is going on, however we figured it out!
The main highlight was definitely going to Cottonwood Island Park and checking out all of the scenery. We even actually saw a Bear! I’ll be honest, I kind of freaked out. I don’t do well with wild animals! However, at the same time, it was very cool to see!
On a personal note, I would like to thank everyone at CKPG for being so awesome for my short time as the Funchaser. It was a short stint, but I will never forget my time here and I also really had a blast. A big shoutout to Ron, Mike, Connor, and my guy Rob for really helping me out through the entire summer and showing me the ropes. I am now moving to work with the Prince George Spruce Kings as the team’s communications director and play by play broadcaster. On that note, I would like to say thanks again, it was a pleasure being the Funchaser for the summer!
