I had forgotten how much I enjoy hockey but tonight’s atmosphere re-sparked that Canadian, hockey love affair within me.
When it comes to public speaking, I am a walking ball of nerves—actually, I am always a walking ball of nerves.
The last time I got in front of a microphone in front of a crowd of people, was a decade ago.
This was definitely going to be a challenge for me, but I faced it head on and I must admit I really enjoyed it!
I’ve never felt such a sense of community as I did at this game. Everyone was ready and willing to have conversations with me and with each other!
The atmosphere was one of true excitement and I am so glad that I was able to be a part of the Spruce Kings Home Opener against Chilliwack!
As soon as the puck hit the ice, the Spruce Kings set the tone, coming out of the first period two- zero.
As for the nerves and the public speaking…
As the first period clock drew closer and closer to zero I was internally freaking out but, I had a lovely, willing trio of contestants come onto the ice and shoot some pucks with me (which helped calm the nerves!)
Thank you SO much to Bill, Tim and Angel you were all amazing! And congratulations to Bill for winning a gift card to the Copper Pig and two tickets to go see Potted Potter at Vanier Hall!
I cannot wait to go to another Spruce Kings game!
Catch me on the weekends, riding around in the Funchaser!
