What a great start to the day down at the Fish Hatchery! We asked for as many people as possible to come down and help release the fish into the river and I was blown away by the line up at Cottonwood Island Park!
Each kid got to take a fish and give it a name, then set it free and wave goodbye as it took off on it’s journey! Afterwards we headed back to the Hatchery to play with the fish in the tanks (wash our hands) and have a delicious hot dog lunch. I was there handing out my favourite SunRype bars to the hungry kids!
Over at Lheidli T’ennah Memorial Park was the walk for “Miracles in Motion.” It was the 1st annual all inclusive walk for disabilities and I got the chance to talk to some people who have been through some tough times losing their loved ones but they had a big support group out today to help. Mr Mikes was at the park cooking up steak sandwiches for a $5 donation, there was a silent auction, 50/50 cash draw and lots to learn down at the park today!
It’s a big weekend next weekend as the Relay for Life begins so make sure to come out and support at Exhibition Park!
