Were you one of the seven thousand people at Canada games plaza last night? THAT’S INCREDIBLE! Yesterday evening the City of Prince George hosted a thank-you party for residents of the city after a long summer of wild fires. Our city welcomed over ten thousand evacuees into homes. We made donations and bought groceries for those who needed it and I am so proud to say I am a part of this community! With Glass Tiger playing last night accompanied by free food, it’s no wonder this was such a smashing event!
This weekend I spent most of my time at Pine Centre Mall for the “Be You Girl” event. This was aimed at girls between the ages of 9 to 16 and focused on the importance of being comfortable in your own skin. They had everything from movie screenings to a self defence workshop, and olympic athlete and even face painting! It’s so great to see the community coming together to encourage the young ladies of PG to truly embrace themselves!
Today was also the Fall Small Business fair at the Roll-A-Dome. A few times per year local vendors get together to sell their incredible crafts and products. I am someone who strongly believes in buying local so this is definitely something I love going to. It was packed today and I left feeling like I needed products I didn’t even know previously existed! What goodies did you pick up?
