This year marks the 40th annual Studio Fair in Prince George!
Not only does it see some of Prince George’s finest vendors, but also vendors across the nation too! I spoke with a man today who was selling bath products, soaps, scrubs and things of the sorts, who came from just outside of Red Deer! A staple of the Studio Fair over the past few years has been Pook Toque who ventures all the way from London Ontario! This company was even on Dragon’s Den so it is a pleasure having their presence in Prince George for people to hopefully snag some presents!
This year was the first time they expanded to BOTH floors of the Civic Centre! I arrived just as the doors opened and there was already a line wrapped around the lobby a few times over. Everyone who has lived in Prince George knows that THIS is THE place to officially start the Christmas shopping! Any sort of knick knack, clothing article, baked good, delicious smells and scrubs, you think of it, the Studio Fair has it!
Of course this being the 40th year for Studio Fair, it is a major reason for celebration, and the city sure did! Members from the Royal LePage group, and Studio 2880, major sponsors of the event, as well as a group of dancers from Judy Russell’s Enchainement Studios, and Mayor Lynn Hall all gathered for the official cake cutting in the lobby!
It was a momentous occasion for the city of Prince George, for not only putting this great event on for such a length of time, but continuing to strive in community support and awareness of the great talents we have in this city! Studio Fair is now a two story, three day event and will be open through tomorrow until 4pm!
