Every Saturday at 10AM there is a group of wonderful people who get together to learn and explore Prince George on a Walk and Talk tour; Today I joined them on their adventure!
This free program includes a short presentation by a professional, prizes and incentives, and good companionship. The topics of the presentations include: walking safely, healthy eating, active living, and much more!
Today the group met at Cottonwood Island Park and the topic of the day was High Blood Pressure. So of course in it’s name, walk and talk, it isn’t just a walking club. People from different health groups come to educate the participants. They give a speech on benefits or tips and tricks and then the group takes on a different trail each week.
The tours have been happening for approximately 3 years in Prince George, but the idea has also spread to Kelowna, and Vancouver making an impact all over BC!
