For the first time in Prince George, the Fun City Sliders came to town!
The one thousand foot massive slip and slide ride took over University Way SHUTTING DOWN the entire street to allow the city of Prince George to enjoy this wicked ride!
Original slip and slides are maybe 15 feet long made for one person, well this thing was made for thousands of people to enjoy. Young, old, adventurous, the Fun City Slider is extremely versatile to the people who use it.
The slider gave people the opportunity to ride down University Way on an inflatable tube, and depending on how you were able to maneuver yourself, you could pick up some incredible speed on this thing! People were laughing and cheering all day and it’s amazing to see the mobs of people all around Prince George always come together for these great events!
The use of the slip and slide WOULD NOT be possible if it weren’t for the 150+ volunteers who put their time into setting up this ride. The City Slider crew of course are the pros at set up but they need the hands for mass assembly, and kudos to the YMCA of Northern BC for wrangling up hundreds of volunteers to do so. With this being such a massive production, there are of course going to be blips in the running of the ride, which there was. That’s where great communication and teamwork came in to fix it, which they did on multiple occasions, big thumbs up the EVERYONE involved in running this event!
