For a few weeks now, the PG Downtown Farmer’s Market has been set up outside as well, and what a beautiful day to visit the Friends of the Farmer’s Market
The five sense were all being tackled this weekend at the Farmer’s Market!
It was my first time heading to the market with the outdoor portion being open. My eyes were in shock with how beautiful and well set up the market was. I am used to the indoor portion only and the outdoor portion makes the downtown core pop with great scenery.
No matter where you were visiting in the market, one of my favourite sounds echoed through the street. A man was playing an acoustic guitar singing many different of varieties of bluesy sounding music. There is nothing more soothing than walking down the street, browsing local products, and humming an acoustic tune!
The alley of tents had you by a collar, sending your nose in a tizzy. The smell of fresh potted plants, a bbq with hot dogs, hamburgers and bratwurst sausages had me fighting to not empty my wallet!
Of course the bbq covers the taste portion as well, but I also walked over to the Willow River Cracker Company. The nice gentleman manning the tent offered me a sample of his crackers, with the onion flavoured ones being my favourite, having my tastebuds dancing.
When it comes to touch, you could really consider anything there to delve into that sense. You could touch the freshly baked bread, the ripe vegetables, the summer clothing now available. Endless options in the downtown farmer’s market!
The downtown Prince George Farmer’s Market is of course open every single Saturday year round until 2 o’clock!
