The city is not used to the weather being this nice this time of year, and that means that all those home and outdoor decor improvements need some TLC.
The Northern BC Home and Garden Show was held this weekend just in time for some tips and tricks to bring your home to tip top shape.
Kin 1, 2, AND 3 were jam packed with vendors to aid and guide you in any projects you want to tackle. There was also the everyday items being vendored to the event attendees. There was a very cool display of a team selling unique squeegees. They collected water in a compartment as opposed to just trickling down the mirror or window surface. That was one of many innovative gadgets to help you in everyday situations. Not to mention, there were endless amounts of hot tubs on display!
Not only were there displays that travel around to trade shows like these, but the Prince George based vendors were also out in full force.
That was all for the price of admission, but even before you got in, Rona had an amazing set up outside. It was the second year that they had the Kutthroat Construction Competition. They brought in 3 different construction companies (Piche Homes, MRC Contracting, Crimson Projects) to build immaculate playgrounds for kids to be auctioned off, and all proceeds going to charity. The three charities included BC Children’s Hospital, YMCA of Northern BC, and the Parkinson’s Society.
There were fun challenges that included sabotages and mystery materials to make this competition a little more interesting.
At the end of the day the winner of best playhouse, by a public vote, was Piche Homes! But the fun part was the end of the competition watching a few different guys trying to outbid each other for the homes. At the end of the bidding, one man walked away with two of the playhouses, and a total of over $33,ooo was raised to go towards the charities!
What a fun competition for such great causes! CKPG, The River, and The Drive have been partnered with the Home and Garden show for over 15 years and look to happily continue our partnership with this great show next year!
