Autism is a disease I don’t know much about, but I do know that for a parent of a child with Autism a support group is very important. Courtney who started this annual walk was telling me how she envisions the walk and the progression of the group getting bigger and having a permanent building to call home. Right now the group functions mostly through Facebook, providing support for parents. They are hoping the walk will bring in more people and create an understanding community for their children to grow up in. It was a fun day at Cottonwood Island Park, with everyone wearing blue, with balloons and goodie bags ! I even brought some SunRype Fruit Snacks which the kids loved. I even had Blue ones! As everyone gathered, they talked about the future of the group and then they were off to the finish line at Fort George Park where they had snacks, games and raffles waiting for them!
