Growing up, I always love story time. Some of my favorites where of course by Robert Munsch, The Paperbag Princess, Mortimer and so many others captured my imagination. The Prince George Public Library was hosting Munsch Mania 3 today. Local celebrities and librarians reading their favourite Munsch book was not an event I could resist. I was warmly greeted by Kaitlyn who is the Children’s Librarian. They had tables set up with almost all of Robert Munsch’s stories. The Volunteer readers where scattered through the library, each with their favourite story and a fun activity to go with it. I talked to the readers who were all excellent story tellers, Ted Andrew even had his own puppet to go with his story, A Paperbag Princess. Shirley Bond was there reading “Smelly Socks” to some very excited 5 year. Russell Bowers had a fairly big crowd eagerly listening to Aarons Hair, and enjoying the crazy hairdos they created afterwards, who all raced over to see Heather Gloster read “Thomas’s Snowsuit” and create their own fancy snowflakes .Norm lee was perfect with all the faces he made with his story, “Good Families Don’t”, he was very excited about his activity which included whoopee cushions. Helen Domshy did a perfect reading of “Purple, Green, and Yellow!” as the kids huddled in really close. Before I left I had to check out Heather Bellringer’s story, one of my favourites, Mortimer.
