If you’re ready to treat your taste buds to an array of mouthwatering flavours, get ready for the Coast Inn of the North Wine Lover’s Dinner.
The five course dinner created by the talented Chef Alden, will treat your mouth to a love affair it didn’t even know existed.
Those with a palate for wine will immediately sense how each meal has been carefully paired with the perfect glass of hand selected wine.
First Course:
You’ll start the night off with a Caprese Salad consisting of fresh greens, Okanagan tomatoes and light-creamy Burrata and aged balsamic. According to our own on air team, Mike Benny, Char Normandeau and Vilma Port the cheese on the salad was amazing, “it’s silky,” said Vilma.
Wine Pairing: Illahe Vineyards 2016 Pinot Gris
Second Course:
This course will be followed by one of fresh sockeye salmon, served on kale “This is the kale anyone would love,” said Char.
On top of the salmon and kale is a saffron and carrot butter sauce consisting of fresh carrot juice, white wine, whipped cream and, of course, butter. Vilma and Char can tell you that the sauce on this salmon was entirely out of this world.
Wine Pairing: Foxen Winery 2015 Chardonnay – Bien Nacido Vinyard
Third Course:
The next course will have you wishing it never ended.
Prepare to be treated to the juiciest, most tender and flavourful lamb rack chop your mouth has ever enveloped. As well as a lamb shank so succulent, rich in flavor and buttery to the lightest touch of your fork served on a bed of mashed potatoes and roasted thumbilina carrots. This is a dish you’ll be talking about until the next Wine Lover’s Dinner and beyond.
Wine Pairing: 75 Wine Company 2013 The Sum
Fourth Course:
Your fourth course of the night is dessert, the Death by Chocolate terrine. Served with fresh raspberries, topped with a sheet of white chocolate and sprinkled with mint sugar this is the perfect dessert for the perfect dinner.
Wine Pairing: Dessert Wine by Northern Light Winery
Fifth Course:
The last course of the night, (if you still have room for it) is a small charcuterie plate, with red wine infused cheese, zingy blue cheese, and a “silky” smooth Brie. It is the ideal end to an amazing evening.
Wine Pairing: Burrowing Owl Coruja
