Today was amazing!
The morning started off very very cold, windy and rainy—but today I was more prepared for it than yesterday.
I wore my thermal socks and warm insulated jacket. I still need gloves though because my little fingers almost froze off again!
Labour Day Classic
I’m not lying when I say I really wished I was running this race, not the 17 and a half mile run…but maybe the five kilometer would have been good!
The kids run was cancelled—and then it was back on—and then it was cancelled—and then it was back on again!
I’m glad they didn’t end up cancelling it because the little ones really seemed to enjoy themselves with their parents!
Everyone was a winner and got awarded a REALLY good looking sugar cookie medal at the end of it!—I wish I could’ve passed as a kid again, solely for the cookie.
The 17 and a half mile race to me just seems INSANE!—like, I LOVE running…but 17 and a half miles just seems a little extreme.
Regardless, EVERYONE did an AMAZING job! There was such a good aura around the whole event, which made it really fun to experience!
Although there was one injury, everyone came out strong—I really hope the guy that fell ill is feeling better, sending lots of Funchaser love his way!
Hit to Pass @ PGARA Speedway
I’ve never done this before.
Writing a script for radio on this one proved to be a bit difficult because I didn’t know what to expect, I’d never been to anything like this before!
Not only that but I got lost on my way here–I hate getting lost.
But it wasn’t my fault!—Google maps took me to the wrong address, an address on the complete opposite side of town!
Regardless of the struggle, I made it safe and sound. I met a very nice lady named Elizabeth who is a Hit to Pass/PGARA Speedway guru!
She gave me a quick crash course on what I was going to be watching, thank you SO much Elizabeth!!
She honestly made my day, we talked the entire time I was there and she gave me life advice, which is always appreciated.
Anyway, the race was a good time! I couldn’t stay for the actual Hit to Pass, but I saw the mini races they do prior to it and got a pretty good feel for it!
I cannot wait to come back, more prepared, with ear plugs, blankets and a butt cushion cause those bleachers are hard on your precious peach.
Overall with the Ancient Forest from Saturday, the run and the Hit to Pass this was another amazing weekend and I feel so blessed to have been able to share it with all of you!
Remember to come and say hi if you see me roaming around on the weekends!
Thank you to all the sweet people who made another weekend a great one!
Till next weekend Prince George!
