Today I witnessed a group of young athletes who are strong, passionate and could kick my butt. There was a Judo Tournament today at Duchess Park Secondary School and the youngest took the mats in the morning and it just went up in age as the day went on. These kids train hard and battle harder when they come out to compete and it’s very entertaining to watch!
I was surprised when I pulled up into the CN Centre Parking lot because it was raining and windy but yet there was still a good line up of people for the Crime Stoppers event “Shred It.” The event was held so for $5 people could bring important documents and have them quickly and safely shredded.
Now the big event of the day was the Home and Garden Show at Exhibition Park, it was HUGE. Inside of Kin 1 and 2, the atrium and even taking over a majority of the parking lot! They have everything from foot massagers (which I tried and loved) to hot tubs and new front doors for your house! I had a fun time just walking around and taking it all in plus if you get hungry they have plenty of food vendors. If you missed it today don’t worry it’s on again tomorrow and they even have a FREE pancake breakfast from 8-11am! Tickets are only $8 and can be purchased at the doors.
I am a relatively big art fan, not that I’m any good at it but I like looking at the work actual artists out together. Today I stopped in at the Breaking Boundaries Art Exhibit down at Omineca Art Centre and I was blown away by the talent. The artists range from 18 to 70+ and some art work can be bought and others are not but art shows to me are always worth a look!
Lets pray for better weather tomorrow while I Funchase! – Olivia the Funchaser xo
