My first weekend as the Funchaser and I had so much fun!
My first stop of the day was at the Active Living Market happening at the Pine Centre Mall. As I explored the mall I was able to stop and chat to over twenty different activity booths and ask as many questions as I needed! Each booth had a different spring or summer activity for you to sign up for and for all different ages!
Next I was down at the Farmers Market taking in all the smells of fresh locally made foods! From a large spread (no pun intended) of jams to leather belts this place had it all. It’s open every Saturday from 8:30 until 2pm no matter the temperature. Located right behind The Keg downtown be sure to check this one out!
So many events were going on at the Public Library this weekend and I got to check out two of them! The first one being a FREE movie, they were playing the BFG with some comfy bean bag chairs layed out in front to make everyone super comfortable. I passed out some Sunrype snack and juice boxes to keep everyones stomachs quiet during the show.
Second event at the Library was both GIANT and small chess games! Both learners and experts were there to play and we all had a good time. Be sure to check out the PG Public Library website for all the upcoming activities they have going on at www.pgpl.ca/events.
My last stop of the day was at the Two Rivers Gallery for longbow making! I sat in on some a hard working group of people making some amazing traditional bows. It looked tough but it’s a great way to heat up on cold days like today! This was the first time the class was put on but I hope to see it continuing because it is such a fun activity.
Day two in the books and you all have made me feel so welcome in this city!
I started off my Sunday at the Wellness North Expo talking to all the different vendors and seeing what they had going on! There was a nail studio, the cleaning supplies brand that my mom loves so had to send her a couple photos and make her jealous! Also I got to try new healthy meal replacement drinks and protein shakes that were delicious! It was such a fun day and I also decided to end my day there by giving out a few River and Drive prizes!
In between both visits to the Expo I spent my time over at the Kin Centre for the BC Hockey Grand Opening for the Regional Office here in Prince George! I was watching some amazing young women participate in the female skills sessions! When I showed up they were a little behind schedule because as I was told they had SO many girls take part and the sessions were going so well they each ended up going a little longer. This event was going on all weekend and I think they really finished on a strong note this Sunday.
Thanks to everyone I talked to these last couple of days can’t wait to meet more of you next weekend! Check out our website www.ckpgfunchaser.com to see where I’ll be!
With love,
Olivia the Funchaser.
