Hello, It’s Ana here 🙂
Today is a special day because it’s the 44th Annual Labour Day Classics! Of course there was a Labour Day Classics race and that was at the Prince George Civic Center. Participate in the 44th Annual Labour Day Classic race distances include 17 miles, 8.5 miles, 5km, and a kids’ fun run. The Kids race was at 9:15 and they all passed that finish line with a smile! They even got cookies at the finish line. After I watched all the races I then headed over to the Labour Day Banquet. The banquet was full of people and the speeches were really nice. After that I headed over to Huble Homestead Historic Site. Today was the very last potato festival of the season and because it was the last one they were giving everyone 10% off all merchandise. The Potato festival was busy with people coming in and out and enjoying a bite to eat from their menu. There were activities for everyone of all ages and everyone was having buckets of fun! I had a wonderful time walking through the farm, playing games, looking in the shop, and of course checking out all the locally grown potatoes! This was Huble Homestead Potato Festivals  fourth year, this event is the perfect place to learn more about heirloom potato varieties, and you can even buy some of your own to take home and try. And if you are interested where it is for next year perhaps, Huble Homestead is located 40km north of Prince George, just off Highway 97 on Mitchell Road. Admission is by donation and they are dog friendly.
Of course now I am in the office finishing up my day, I hope you had a great day and next weekend be sure to head out to our community events ! As always you can stay updated by the community events page, instagram: ckpgfunchaser , Facebook: CKPG Funchaser.
