One of my favorite things about Prince George is how enthusiastic the community is about getting out and having a good time. Today was BMO Kidz Art Dayz, and boy was there a good turn out! There were tons of great musical artists for kids and even more hands-on activities. The little ones had the opportunity to build rockets to launch, crazy hats, pendulum painting and loads more. The best part of the afternoon was seeing the Pride Parade come through Canada Games Plaza. It was an incredible atmosphere full of cheering, smiles, and positivity. I was fortunate to have some family from out of town in, and it was an absolute blast to participate and help the kids make some of the crafts. At one point there was a dance party going on in front of the stage and I’m 99% sure that every child had a drip of Frozen Paddle ice cream on their shirt. if you didn’t have a chance to take your family to Kidz Art Dayz, make sure to check it out next weekend because it’s definitely one you won’t want to miss.
This evening I had the opportunity to be one of the emcees for the final evening of Heatwave, the free outdoor concert series. Ana and I had the pleasure of meeting and introducing Kym Gouchie and Friends, Donne Roberts and The Paperboys. At one point during Donne Roberts, we got the crowd to do a conga line and even had some of the little girls doing some coordinated dance sequences with us. I always have an incredible time at events like this, not just because I get to see and present local talent, but because I get to talk to artists about what makes them passionate about their music. If you were there at the concert, you’ll know that it was truly an evening to remember, full of incredible music and an even more fabulous crowd! Thank you to everyone who came out, and to all of the volunteers and vendors that make events like this possible and successful.
Make sure to follow the CKPG Funchaser on Facebook and Instagram for all the information, and of course, photos of all the events I get to attend! And also let me know when you’re holding your next event, I would love to stop by!
