Another wonderful afternoon out in this marvelous city. As they say, it was “easy like a Sunday morning”. Everything was a little bit slower-paced compared to yesterday, but sometimes a little bit of relaxation is needed at the end of the week (especially when the snow is a-stormin’ and the roads are covered in slush…).
I started off the day by sharing some more highlights of SnowFrolics. If you haven’t been able to go to Pineview yet, I highly suggest you do (a perfect weekend adventure for the family). Today more sno-pitch was being played on the ball diamonds (except there was actually snow today, yippy!) and participants took advantage of ball hockey. There are more events happening next weekend too so you haven’t missed your chance! The following is the upcoming event schedule for the remainder of SnowFrolics in case you’re interested:
- Snowshoe Volleyball (Feb 4 & 5),
- Sno-Pitch (Jan 28 & 29)
- Cribbage Tournament (Feb 2)
*For more information or to register a team for any of the events visit www.pineviewhall.com*
I then headed to GameQuest where their first Commander Tournament Bonanza of 2017. I attempted to learn the game of Magic, but that was an ambitious goal for one afternoon. They had a great turnout of 23 people who came out and played multiple 50-minute rounds. Thank you so much to GameQuest for providing me with my very own pack of cards to start me off. This certainly gives me something to learn in my free time! Also, big thanks to the owner of GameQuest, Kelsey, for making me feel so welcome in a setting where saying I was “clueless” is an understatement. What a culture! What a game! What magic!
I found myself in a more familiar environment when I ended up at the library for an afternoon dedicated to Adult Colouring Enthusiasts. This is a group that meets every Sunday from 1pm-4pm to create beautiful artwork, chat and enjoy each other’s company. I had a wonderful conversation with a woman named Lynn, who showed me just how much detail some of the drawing pages have. Her art was beautiful and I think I may have to go back next week with my own pencil crayons and paper to join in. I love that this gathering breaks down the barriers of what age group is “supposed” to partake in certain activities. You like to colour? Well, no matter what your age, join in!
I also found out that the Krell Wellness Center is offering by-donation yoga starting at 7:30 on Sunday evenings! Proceeds go to Big Brother Big Sister Prince George, so it’s all in the name of a good cause and open to whoever want’s to participate. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend tonight, but I plan to catch some zen next week, so I’ll hope to see you there!
Tomorrow morning I’m back to the office working with the Promo Diva to plot new contest ideas and super fun giveaways. More blogs to come next weekend, but until then, keep partying Prince George!
Your FunChaser,
Levi
