This Friday saw the 20th year of the National Scotiabank AIDS Walk here in Prince George!
The event is hosted by Positive Living North and this year’s Walk champion was Camille MacDonald, former CKPG reporter who has found a personal connection within PLN. She covered many stories over the year’s regarding Positive Living North and has fond memories of their events, for example when they treated kids to a luxurious day getting pampered.
This event is to bring awareness that the unfortunate disease brings obstacles for people of any age, or gender. Education of these types of misfortunes begins at a young age, and this year was the first time a large number of kids were present. The Harwin Elementary Leadership Group was in attendance, having a good time, supporting the cause and educating themselves.
There were plenty of vendors on hand for the event, handing out pamphlets, showing off their art, as well as some famous bannock! The successful event raised funds for local services around Prince George!
