Celebrate Prince George is a huge string of festivities getting people together to celebrate everything Prince George has to offer. This year, the 31st annual Franco Fun Winter Festival was a part of those festivities.
Franco Fun brings the francophone community together to celebrate their heritage! This celebration saw people enjoy food, desserts, silent auctions and good company.
There was tons for the entire family as the kids in attendance had the chance to learn and play. They had colouring and activity pages to occupy the kids while they ate their lunch, and then afterwards ahad facepainting and games for the kids to play. For the adults in attendance there was live music, as previously mentioned the silent auction, and entertainment in tap dancers!
They had a few people speak on behalf of the francophone community, which included mayor Lyn Hall.
There was a group of people supplying distinct Francophone desserts to the kids. It was frozen maple syrup on ice, and though it looked delicious, it may have been one of the messiest snacks I have ever seen in my entire life! The Maple syrup just did not want to to stay on the stick provided to hold the sticky snack and the kids could not keep up. There is a picture in the album of a young boys hands completely covered in the daunting delectable dessert, but it does not do the mess justice whatsoever.
It was a great event that brought a huge group of people together and despite the mess, everyone there was equipped with a smile on their face!
