It was Crime Stoppers night at the Timberwolves games on Saturday as UNBC took on UBC Okanagan.
This was the 4th year that the Crime Stoppers were a part of a promotion with the University. Ron and Karen came with a table full of Crime Stoppers magnets, pens, lights and information on the organization.
As the games went on, Prize Gal Brittany and I handed out pieces of paper for the Crime Stoppers contest. Fans wrotte their name on the paper and turned it into a paper airplane for the contest at men’s half time. The contestants had to throw the paper airplanes towards centre court where the Crime Stoppers mat was laid out, and whoever landed it closest to the middle won the grand prize!
The lucky contestant that landed his plane almost directly on the mat won himself a Garmin watch! The two runner ups also walked away with some huge prizes. That included 2 cd’s, a BC Casino’s gift card, Red Tag travel vouchers. and more!
Unfortunately the Timberwolves couldn’t grab a win, but the contest added some fun and excitement for the crowd at hand!
