I was so excited when I found out that Prince George would be hosting Northern FanCon, and I was even more excited when I found out I could actually attend! I started the weekend off right by cosplaying Dean Winchester from Supernatural. My boss, Kharah Black, decided to tag along with me this weekend. She was the Sam to my Dean. Friday was so cool, because we got to see all the vendors, and the first cosplayers. The great thing about Northern FanCon and similar events is that the attendants are the best! Not only do they come dressed up in great costumes, but they are so positive. Lots of people were happy to let me take their photos, and everyone always had a compliment! After hanging around we headed back to the office to change and get ready for the after party. It was fantastic, we danced, talked and partied with celebrities and lots of eager people. It was great to meet RJ Mitte from Breaking Bad, and it was even better to watch and listen to him as he DJ’d. Then bright and early Saturday morning, I was back and dressed as Mary Poppins which was a costume that I haven’t seen at this kind of event before. It was well received by everyone. Later, Kharah Black joined me again and we changed into our alter egos; hers being Black Cat and mine being the Super FunChaser! Mandy Paavola was even nice enough to paint me a mask to complete the look. Then we headed back to the station to get ready for the final after party. The final after party was great and was Heroes vs. Villains themed. Lots of positive people were there, dancing and shaking their groove things. We had a great time! Getting up early on Sunday morning hurt a little but it was all worth it when Mandy Paavola again painted my face. She even did Kharah’s! We went for a pop-art look for our last day of Northern FanCon and it was very popular. Unfortunately Northern FanCon is over, but it was so much fun and I am looking forward to next year so much! It was great fun and I hoped that all of you got the chance to go experience it for yourselves!
