It’s such an odd feeling to be saying goodbye to all our new friends. All things have to end but these last two weeks have been amazing! I have done things I never would have thought I’d do. I caught Pinfever, I went Polar Bear dipping with Global news, then I got to meet so many wonderful athletes. There were the free shows every night and the fantastic fireworks. So the Closing Ceremonies were very bittersweet for me. Also a little bit chilly out at the UNBC Angora where they held the Closing Ceremonies. It was a beautiful setting and the colours of everyone’s jackets just looked amazing. There where fantastic performers, artists, and speeches that made everyone cry. A big thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who helped me and countless other people whenever we needed it. Chieftain Lightning Sticks and SunRype snacks were not enough of a thank you but it’s a start! After all the tears and excitement it was done. The athletes started to get confusing after they all traded toques, scarves, gloves and even coats! I was hoping to track a couple more pins down so I headed to the Plaza for the last night. There I handed out a lot more lightning sticks but it appeared that all the athletes had called it a night because the crowd was full of excited and tired locals! Thank you PG for making the 2015 Canada Winter Games awesome!
